Frequently Asked Questions

Take a look at some of the more common questions we get asked. If you cannot find the answer you are looking for then please get in touch.

Q: Does it cost to use The Event Wall?

A: The site is free to register and use. We charge venues a small commission if they are successful in hosting your conference.

Q: I have received some proposals from conference venues but want to find out more about a few of them?

A: Venue contact details are shown on the proposal. If you would like these emailed to you press the shortlist button in My Events. An email will also be sent to the conference venue telling them you have shortlisted their proposal. You can get in touch to talk about the conference venue in more detail and arrange a site visit.

Q: I want to make an enquiry but don't want my contact details or company name shared. What do I do?

A: If you would like to keep your company name private when making an enquiry you can select the option Hide My Company Name on the enquiry form. We never share your contact details with venues unless you tell us to do so. If you shortlist a venue an email is sent to the venue informing them that you have shortlisted their proposal. This contains your name and company name but no contact information.

Q: I received a number of proposals and have now decided which conference venue I want to use. What do I do?

A: In My Events find the proposal you want to use and press the I Am Using This Venue button. This will let the conference venue know so you can complete planning the conference. As part of the terms and conditions of using the site you must let us know the outcome of your enquiry by either reserving one of the proposals or cancelling your enquiry.

Q: Do you recommend particular conference venues?

A: We do not recommend and are not affiliated to any individual conference venues.

Q: I booked a conference venue I found on your site but now need to cancel it. What do I do?

A: The first thing you should do is contact the venue directly, informing them of the cancellation. They will cancel the booking you made so that we know the conference is not now taking place. However if you have agreed a contract with the venue you will be bound by these terms so you will need to check the venues cancellation policy.

Q: Do you let me know if a venue I selected using venue search cannot meet my requirements and send in a proposal?

A: If a venue you asked for a proposal from cannot meet your requirements they will notify you of this through My Events. View your proposals and look at the No Availability tab for the reason why.

Q: If I create a conference enquiry using the site will I have loads of conference venues contacting me direct?

A: Your contact details are only shared with conference venues when you book a conference venue. When you create an enquiry you can choose whether to show your company name on the enquiry.

Q: How many proposals will I get on an enquiry?

A: The number of proposals you will get against your enquiry is unlimited. This enables as many conference and meeting venues as possible to send you venue options, not just the ones quickest off the mark. The more information you detail when creating your enquiry and the more defined you are, the more defined and the better proposals you will get.

Q: How do I manage the proposals I get?

A: You can manage the proposals you receive through My Events. You can rate them as shortlist or reject. Using this you can quickly mark which ones you like and where a proposal is not suitable.

Q: I created a conference enquiry but some of the details have now changed. Can I change my enquiry?

A: Find your enquiry in My Events and press the edit button. You can then change the details required.
